North Devon Pre-Wedding Beach Shoot – Nicola & Mervyn
I love being a Devon wedding photographer as I am fortunate enough to visit many beautiful and interesting locations and I get to meet some lovely couples. I really enjoyed meeting up with Nicola & Mervyn for a pre-shoot at Barricane Beach in Woolacombe, North Devon. Woolacombe is a beautiful location and has some fantastic beaches. It is one of my favourite locations in North Devon, I just love it there.
Nicola & Mervyn are a lovely chilled out fun couple. It was great to hear how the couple met and got together. Although it nearly never happened due to tiredness and football….Actually it transpired it was just football but I won’t go in to it. They very soon relaxed into the shoot and enjoyed walking on the beach and having a bit of a laugh. We are so lucky here in Devon as we have so many beautiful beaches so there’s never an issue with where to go for a pre-shoot. This helps enormously as a wedding photographer in Devon as we are never stuck for choice.

The couple really relaxed into the shoot. I initially thought Mervyn would be a little anxious but actually he was fine. Nothing to worry about at all and they both appeared to be really enjoying it. We nearly got cut off by the tide and had to clamber over a few rocks to reach dry land. All part of the fun!
At the end of the shoot Mervyn climbed up into the rocks and disappeared into the cave never to be seen again. Legend has it at certain times of the year, usually when the moon is at its brightest and if you stand at the foot of the cave and whisper Mervyn three times strange things happen. I cannot verify this as it’s just a rumour. As far as I know he went home after enjoying a fish-pie at the Redbarn!
Nicola & Mervyn will be getting married in Barnstaple soon and holding their celebrations at the beautiful Northcote Manor in North Devon. Really looking forward to meeting up with them again.
Cheers
Anthony
Pre-wedding shoots are a great way to get to know me and to get use to being in front of the camera. Although its not for everyone a pre-shoot is a great way to prepare yourself for your wedding day. If you would like to read a guide about the process and what it entails please check out the article by following: Pre-wedding shoot in Devon. If you are getting married and looking for a Devon wedding photographer I would love to hear from you.
Pre-shoots don’t have have to take place at the beach. There are so many options here in the Southwest. If you fancy something a little different why not try a shoot in the city: Exeter Wedding Photography – Pre-shoot
