The day started off meeting up with Matt and his Groomsmen at St Michaels & All Angels church in Stokenham, not far from Kingsbridge in south Devon. It was a glorious day with not a cloud in sight. The beautiful bride Edina was led down the aisle by her proud looking father and the ceremony was lovely, and the vicars first wedding. Edina’s parents had traveled over from Hungary and could not speak a word of English so it was nice when one of Edina’s friends gave a reading in Hungarian. We left the church to bright sunshine and headed down to Slapton sands for some couple shots before heading to The Old Threshing Barn a great wedding venue with accommodation, well worth checking out.
The speeches started with Matt’s father welcoming the brides parents in Hungarian. The rest of the speeches went really well with lots of laughter and plenty of wine. Edina’s father had brought over plenty of Pálinka (I think that’s what it is called) and the men spent lots of the time downing the shots in the courtyard with the rest of the guests. The first dance was really great and it was good to see all the guests getting on the dance floor to the live band.
It was a great day, although very hot, and I had a great time capturing your wedding. Thank you for making me feel welcome and thanks for the many cold drinks and food. I hope you had a great honeymoon.
Talk to you soon.
