Relaxed couple Victoria & Sandy got married at the lovely rural location of Cothelstone, just outside Taunton and close to the Quantocks in Somerset. The ceremony took place at The Church of St Thomas of Canterbury. To get to the church you had to enter through the grounds of the manor house and past some private cottages and to the church at the back.
It was great to be Somerset wedding photographer for their English country wedding. I started off at the couples home in Taunton before heading off to the church to meet Sandy with his best-man, applying the finishing touches to the church. The weather was glorious and we were blessed with lots of sunshine. As the ceremony drew closer and the guests started to arrive the excitement levels began to increase. Sandy was really relaxed and took it all in his stride.
The girls arrived in style with the bridesmaids in a Morris Minor and the bride with her father in a vintage Austin.
Once the ceremony was over the couple, with their guests, enjoyed the summer sunshine in a field close to the church. We did a few group-shots before heading off the the reception at Roughmoor Farm in Taunton. A lovely venue with plenty of space to move around, with a large marquee to hold the wedding breakfast. It was a fantastic location to hold an English afternoon wedding celebration. As the afternoon progressed the guests took part in lawn games, relaxed on the grass and enjoyed strawberries and cream and lots of Pimms.
A little later everyone made their way to the marquee for the speeches, which all went really well. The pig roast looked and tasted great, the crackling was sublime! It was soon time for cutting of the cake and then the first dance. Great to see the guests get on the dance floor.
Thanks for making me feel so welcome. Talk to you soon.
Check out this great feedback!
You have done us proud with these pictures! You worked so hard on our day seemingly never stopping to take a break. The pictures are fantastic they seem to show every moment and every aspect of our wedding beautifully if we were to go back to before our wedding and picture how our wedding photos were going to look I’m sure this is how they would appear. We cannot fault your work and how you handled yourself you blended in so brilliantly and added a little more Laughter to the occasion at times too. I don’t know whether a photographer allows pride in his work but I feel you should be proud of these photos you totally nailed it.
Thanks for supplying us with reminders of all the great moments of our day your a star!
Best wishes” Sandy&Tori AKA Mr&Mrs Jarvis!!!!!”
