Wedding at Hestercombe – Amanda & Andrew

We had been waiting for this moment for such along time. Amanda & Andrew were supposed to get married back in 2020. Well, we all know what happened there! So, it was great when the couples day finally arrived. You could really feel the buzz in the air. I think everyone was just so happy to be out and meeting up with friends and loved ones.

The couple held their wedding and celebrations at the beautiful Hestercombe Gardens, just on the edge of Taunton. It is an amazing space and one of my favourite venues to visit, as a wedding photographer in Somerset. The waterfall, lake and formal gardens are really beautiful and provide a great backdrop to the photos. I have a done a few weddings there and there are still areas I have yet to explore.

I met up with Amanda getting ready out somewhere close to Hestercombe. Thank god for sat nav’s as I would never be able to find these places. The weather was fantastic and everyone was smiling. A great combination!

Hestercombe House Wedding

Arriving at Hestercombe, Andrew was down next to the Orangery greeting family and friends as they arrived. He was looking a little nervous but hey! It’s his wedding day! The Orangery is a beautiful light and airy building, a perfect space to hold the wedding ceremony.  The walk down to the Orangery is a favourite time for me at Hestercombe. The bridal party have to walk through a part of the formal gardens, down some steps and into the ceremony space. There are always so many shots to capture on the way.

After the ceremony we headed off into the gardens and towards the famous waterfall towards the top of the property. The waterfall is always a favourite place to have a little time out for the couple, and for me to capture a few shots.

After the wedding breakfast in Bampfylde Hall the space is cleared for the dancing and partying. The dancing is a part of the day I really enjoy. Everyone has usually had a few drinks; all is relaxed and the fun really starts.
