Sidmouth Harbour Hotel Wedding – Ellice & Jacob
One of the joys of being a Devon wedding photographer in this beautiful county is that we get to travel to places like Sidmouth. What a great location. The beaches are lovely and the gardens are beautiful. I was lucky enough to capture Ellice & Jacob’s wedding at the Harbour Hotel. The hotel is in an elevated position just off to one side of the town with views of the immediate seafront and the coast stretching off. We were treated to some very warm weather and blue skies which was a little different to when we met up earlier in the year for the couples pre-wedding shoot. Harbour Hotel Wedding in Sidmouth
The day started off with meeting up with Ellice and her bridesmaids getting ready at the Harbour Hotel. There was plenty of excitement, fun and laughter but also a little nervous energy. The ceremony was being held over in Exmouth so we had to head over navigating the narrow and twisty roads. On our return to Sidmouth the wedding party made their way down to Connaught gardens for a few group-shots. The weather continued to be glorious and the couple enjoyed a few shots on the cliff tops over looking Sidmouth. It’s at moments like these that being a wedding photographer in Devon is fantastic. A little later the couple were introduced to their seated guests ready for the wedding breakfast and a little later the speeches. This is a part of the day I really enjoy documenting. The father of the bride took the guest on a slideshow of images from the brides birth through to the present. The groom was given a similar treatment by his best man and his Dad. There was much embarrassment but also plenty of laughter.
The guests relaxed in the hotels lounge and bar in the late afternoon and early evening. Once the cake was cut the couple took to the dance floor and were later joined by family and friends and the partying began. A lovely day and a pleasure to photograph.
