Powderham Castle Wedding
It was great to meet up with Amanda & Lewis for their wedding at Powderham Castle recently. Powderham Castle is a fortified manor house situated in the village of Kenton. The castle is has a rich history going back to the late 14th century. On non wedding days and at certain times of the year the castle is open for guided tours. It is well worth a visit.
Wedding at Powderham Castle
If you are looking to hold your wedding ceremony in a castle, Powderham would certainly tick that box. It really is magnificent and a desirable location to get married in Devon. The day started off with Lewis and his groomsmen arriving at the castle. It looked so cool when the guys walked up the long driveway and through the portcullis. Amanda arrived a little later with her bridesmaids, flower-girls and pageboy. Amanda was walked down the aisle by her very proud looking grandfather, a beautiful moment in any ceremony. The ceremony was absolutely full of emotion with Lewis needing tissues after the reading by one of the flower-girls. Thankfully the registrar had some tissue on hand! After the ceremony the wedding party went out in the gardens to relax with drinks and enjoy the setting. It was good fun with plenty of banter going on between the guys.
A little later the bride & groom enjoyed high tea with family before heading off to The Mill On The Exe in Exeter for the cutting of the cake, speeches and the first dance. It was so much fun. I felt so lucky to be part of this fantastic day. Thanks for making me feel so welcome.
Talk to you soon.
