It was a real pleasure to travel over to the beautiful naval city of Portsmouth in Hampshire to be the photographer for Liz & Paul’s wedding.
Liz & Paul both work at the University of Exeter as research scientists, which is where they met and love blossomed. They decided to hold the wedding in Liz’s home city of Portsmouth. I started off the photography at Liz’s parents home in Southsea for some getting ready shots with Liz, her parents, and bridesmaids before heading over to meet up with Paul at St Marys C of E church in Gosport. The ceremony was lovely and was held in front of family & friends. After the ceremony we headed over to the venue, Explosion! Naval Museum of Firepower for the rest of the celebrations. Before the wedding breakfast the party relaxed with drinks and assorted hors d’oeuvres. At the wedding breakfast each table had an array of party toys, such as balloons and pea-shooters. Once armed with pea-shooters the air was soon filled with missiles flying and inter-table battle commenced. I also became a target and had to run for cover! Thankfully I was armed and was able to shoot some of this action taking place.
After the meal the speeches took place and there was lots of laughter and emotion. Armed with a rather large sword the cake was cut, followed by the first dance. After the first dance the dance floor soon filled up with the party dancing to the live band. It was a great day and I really enjoyed photographing the celebrations! Thank you for making me feel so welcome and for the lovely food. I hope you had a great honeymoon.
Talk to you soon.
