The Old Council House Wedding in Bristol
Always good to photograph a wedding a little different from the norm. Travelling up to my first wedding in Bristol for Jasmine & Alex’s wedding was a lot of fun. If gave me a chance to combine my love for street photography with wedding photography. The couple were getting married at The Old Council House which I think is in the center of Bristol. Its not too far from Cabot Circus! So uncertain if it is the center of Bristol but no matter. I met up with Jasmine who was getting ready with her bridesmaids & mum in an ex bank that has been converted into apartments. Inside the apartment the old vault door is the toilet door. Apparently if the vault door is shut and accidentally locked and your still on the loo, that’s it, your stuck until the end of time. A terrible way to go!
Bristol Wedding
There was lots of excitement as the girls got ready. With the champagne popped and the cheese unwrapped the girls were ready to walk a little way up the street to the Bristol Registry Office. Alex was all ready and waiting as Jasmine was walked down the aisle by her brother. With the ceremony done the wedding party spilled out on the street and threw confetti while lots of passersby watched on. After moving on to the reception venue we set off for a few shots in and around the side streets of St Nicholas market. I love shooting out in the street and capturing the hustle and bustle. It was fun to watch a bearded photo-bomber strut into the frame. It was amusing to watch him shrink when I turned the camera on him. Jasmine & Alex both seemed to enjoy the street shots and just before the end as they were adjusting footwear the most hilarious of the photo-bombers stood behind to reveal his Jesus belly….Only in Bristol!
It was a fun day and I wouldn’t have missed it for the world. More city weddings this way please!
All the best.
