Ash Barton Estate Wedding – Poppy & George
If you’re going to have a party you need to invite this happy crowd. This was such a happy, friends & family centric wedding. I just loved every minute of the day. Ash Barton Estate in North Devon always attracts a great crowd and its such a fantastic location to hold your ceremony and celebrations.
The couple had opted to hold their ceremony out in the beautiful meadow under a heavy, windy day. Booo! It rained later too! Another big Boooo! The couple had warned me on a previous meeting that they loved to sing shanties. To be honest I couldn’t wait. Who doesn’t love a shanty! Within an hour of starting I was treated, by the guys, of little bit of shantying, if that’s even a word but that’s exactly what was going on. It was great and fantastic start to a fun day.

The wedding ceremony out in the meadow was lovely, such a wonderful space. A little later after the confetti was thrown we captured a few group-shots, before the rain fell and halted proceedings. Still we managed to capture a few more once it eased. The speeches were great fun with plenty of laughter. The barn is really a great space for a wedding breakfast. So much room.
I can’t quite remember how the next bit happened but I was in the walled garden with the couple and their friends getting ready to do a group-shot, by this time the rain had stopped. They only went and sang me a shanty! It was fantastic if a little weird! It was definitely a surreal moment. Anyway I managed to get the group-shot before it all went a bit mad! Brilliant!
I love to capture the dancing at Ash Barton. The dancefloor is such an impressive space. After the first dance it just went crazy. Everyone got up and boogied. I was in my element! I love this part of the day. It’s all about letting your hair down, throwing shapes and dancing like no one is watching! Except, I’m there watching and clicking away and capturing all that craziness. WOW what a party! What a crowd.
Thanks for making me feel so welcome.
Cheers
Anthony
