I had a great time capturing Rachel & Lloyd’s wedding recently in both Devon and Cornwall. The ceremony was held at St Andrews Church right in the centre of Plymouth, before moving across the border to Mount Edgecumbe House on Tor-Point in Cornwall. The weather was forecast to be torrential rain for the day but was quite the opposite until much later.
I started the day off with Rachel with her bridesmaids at home for some getting ready shots. It was all very calm and chilled with very few nerves on show. After meeting up with the girls I was driven across the city and dropped off at St Andrews Church to meet up with Lloyd.
Both Rachel and Lloyd are in the medical profession at Derriford Hospital and struggle to get time off work. Lloyd had not managed to secure his wedding day off when I met up with them both a month or so before the wedding date! So it was great to see Lloyd, looking very nervous, at the church with his groomsmen.
Wedding at Mount Edgecumbe
The ceremony was lovely and was conducted by Lloyd’s grandfather. It must be really nice to able to do this for your family. After the ceremony we caught the Tor-Point ferry across the Tamar, and then onto Mount Edgecumbe House. On arrival we did some couple shots whilst the guests made their river crossing on foot and by car. The guests congregated in front of the house and enjoyed canapes before sitting down to the wedding breakfast in the marquee. The speeches where entertaining with plenty of laughter and some tears. After the cutting of the cake the couple moved on to the first dance and the party got underway.
Thank you for making me feel welcome,I really enjoyed being wedding photographer for your special day.
All the best. Anthony
