Launcells Barton Wedding – Emma & Doug
Emma & Doug’s wedding at Launcells Barton in Cornwall was a beautiful day full of love, fun, tears and joy. It was a wonderful day to capture! The couples original wedding date was back in 2020 and had to be cancelled due to Covid and lockdown. Sensibly they decided to postpone until 2022 with the hope of no pandemic complications! Thankfully it all worked out well. With the lockdown over, weddings were back!

It was touch and go for a while whether the ceremony would take place outside or in the barn. The cloud looked a little heavy and we even felt a few drops of rain. Thankfully the weather held. Doug was really chilled out with the guys. I captured a few of the finishing touches as they all got ready in one of the communal spaces. There was banter a plenty but it was really lovely, as these chaps were obviously great friends. As a photographer it’s these moments of interaction between the friends and loved ones that really interest me. I love to capture these moments.
Emma and the girls were getting ready up in the main house. The cute little one let herself be known, keeping everyone on their toes. It was amazingly calm and relaxed in the room. There was no sign of any nerves or stress. all very calm and collected!
The couple had a opted for a celebrant to conduct the wedding. Fiona did a wonderful job. You can check her out here: Wedding Celebrant. I love a humanist ceremony as they are always so personal to the couple. There were so many lovely moments in Emma & Doug’s ceremony. The tying of the knot was wonderful and so nice to include your loved ones in the proceedings.
After the ceremony was over the couple walked down through the confetti and chilled out with nibbles and drinks in the courtyard. This was also a time to capture a few group-shots before heading in for speeches and the wedding breakfast. The speeches were full of emotion. It’s always a special time to capture as there can be tears but also lots of joy and love. This family and friends group were very close so there was plenty of hugs going on.
Launcells Barton do have a sunset field so a little later, and on the back of a tractor we headed up some very narrow country lanes. Sadly not a full sunset but a rather hazy, cloudy, blink and you will miss it, glimpse of the sun.
This was a crowd that liked to party and this was illustrated by a conga around the venue. It was fun and hilarious. Everyone got involved. This was like the switch to party mode. Everyone just suddenly went for it! It was great! Fantastico!
Thanks for making me feel so welcome. Glad we finally got there.
Cheers Anthony
