Huntsham Court Wedding – Pauline & Jon
Fantastic to be a Huntsham Court wedding photographer for Pauline & Jon’s wedding. My first of the year and my first wedding at this beautiful venue. I have been wanting to tick it off my list of desirable venue’s for sometime now so it was great to finally pay a visit.
Luckily for the couple their wedding was held in a period of unseasonable record breaking warm weather in the UK. Give us a bit of that! It was lovely, which was very fortunate as there was a lot of kilt wearers! Now I know Jon the groom did not go traditional as I got a glimpse, but the guys from Scotland….Who knows! Either way there were no cold gusts and the only cold drafts were at the bar!
Getting Married at Huntsham Court
I met up with Pauline & Jon in what should have been a cold and blustery winters day with the possibility of snow in late February. However, the weather was lovely and it was a great day to be a wedding photographer in Devon. Huntsham Court is a bit of a labyrinth and I was soon lost within the corridors before I was pointed in the right direction. Pauline was getting ready in The Ginger Room right at the top of the house, with her mum and sisters. Pauline’s family had travelled down from Scotland to celebrate the day. Once ready we were on the way to the ceremony although we got a little lost, had to turn back and take a short cut. The wedding party entered to the sound of the bag-pipes, it was beautiful.
After the ceremony the couple and their guests relaxed outside and enjoyed the beautiful Devon weather. After a few group-shots and walking the garden for some couple shots we headed back inside. The wedding breakfast was fast approaching and the rooms were soon packed with guests waiting for the newlyweds to enter. The bride & groom followed the piper to the sound of the classic ‘My Bonnie Lassie’, which got the crowd going. Very rousing! Once the toasts were completed the party relaxed in the numerous rooms and some watched the Six Nations in the bar! It was the day of the England and Wales match… Need I say more!
It was a very good crowd and soon it was time for the dancing. It was lovely to see the bride & groom on the dance floor followed by the guests. Lots of great dancing! Some interesting moves but all good fun and a great way to celebrate a gorgeous day. Loved every minute of it! Enough of my waffle please enjoy the images.
Cheers Anthony
