Guildhall wedding in Exeter – Alexandra & Antony

Reall fantastic to be a wedding photographer in Exeter.  The beautiful wedding of Alexandra and Antony was two days before Christmas and was held at the lovely Exeter Guildhall in the center of Exeter.  We started by meeting up for the getting ready shots at the Rougemont Hotel before moving on to the Exeter Guildhall and finishing at the Taj Mahal restaurant.   They were originally both going to be wearing jeans but Alexandra opted for a wedding dress, which was stunning.  They both got ready together in the same room, although Antony somehow managed to stay out of the way and attend to the champagne.

It was quite a challenge to photograph the ceremony as the lighting was a little tricky but it went great.   The ceremony was lovely, with two readings from friends.  Alexandra is a bell-ringer at her local church and had arranged for her colleagues to ring hand bells as they entered the main hall.  The Exeter Guildhall had a really nice warm feeling and the guests relaxed and enjoyed celebrating the wedding.  The guest were also treated to guided tours around the historic building.

We were hoping to go into the city for some couple shots, but it was torrential rain and the wind was howling, so we opted to stay indoors.   We managed to get some lovely shots of the bride & groom before heading back to the Rougemont Hotel to relax in one of the rooms before the meal.

The Taj Mahal was an intimate venue but held the party well. Alexandra & Antony had their own table at the end of the room and were given elaborately decorated fruit for their guests to feed them.   They were also given food to serve to the most deserving guests, it was a lot of fun.

Great to photograph such a relaxed couple.  We had a great time photographing your wedding at the Exeter Guildhall and thank you for making us feel so welcome.
