Lauren & Pierre – Bristol City Wedding
So great to meet up Lauren & Pierre for their wedding and celebrations in Bristol. They were a couple that had felt the sting of the lockdown and COVID situation. They had actually postponed and moved their wedding a number of times. I really felt their pain. On the plus side their day did finally arrive and it was fantastic to be a part of it.
Lauren’s family and friends were mostly from Devon and more specifically, South Molton in North Devon, close to where I live. Pierre’s family had travelled over from France, which was nice! Anyway to the wedding! The ceremony took place at The Old Council House. I have been lucky enough to visit before. A wonderful old building with some very spacious rooms. The ceremony was lovely and it was great to see the couple’s children involved in the proceedings. The registrar eloquently navigated the couple through their vows and even conducted and clarified the proceedings in French for the grooms family.

The steps of the building are perfect for confetti throwing and it did not disappoint. It was a fantastic moment and one I always appreciate. After the guests headed back to their vehicles to head off to the venue, myself, Lauren & Pierre hung back to walk the city streets, in and around St Nicholas Markets, to capture a few portraits. It was very cold so we didn’t hang out for long. Still it entertained the local Bristolians and shop keepers.
The celebrations took place in an old church on the other side of Bristol. It was a big space with the tresselled tables lined up down the length. It was great to see the guests pitching in to help serve the canapees. The kids did a great job. The speeches were lovely, with lots of emotion, fun and tears. The couples children even stepped up to pay tribute to their parents. Very heart warming.
The evening soon came round and the couple took to the dance floor for the first dance. Great to see the guests take to the dancefloor too. There was some great moves being thrown.
A fantastic day! Thank you for making me feel so welcome.
Enjoy.
