As a Devon wedding photographer I am so lucky to be able to visit some of the most beautiful spots in Devon and dare I say it, the most beautiful locations in the UK. Dartmouth in South Devon is an amazing place to visit. On the day of Alice & Tom’s wedding the Devon weather was glorious. It was blue skies and full on sunshine. Down at Dartmouth harbour with the sun glinting of the sea and the sound of the water lapping against the moored boats, there was nowhere more glorious.
Alice was at the Dart Marina Hotel getting ready with her bridesmaids. Once the girls were ready we headed down to meet Alice’s dad in the hotel foyer before walking down to the harbour to catch ferries over to St Petrox Church.
St Petrox is such a beautiful church and the ceremony atmosphere was perfect. It felt really close and personal. It’s at these times of being a wedding photographer you really appreciate the emotional moments of a wedding ceremony.
Venus Cafe Wedding
Once the ceremony was over and the confetti thrown we headed over to Blackpool Sands for the celebrations. Blackpool Sands is a beautiful beach just outside Dartmouth and a perfect location for celebrating a wedding. Right on the beach front The Venus Cafe served drinks and canapes to the guests as they enjoyed the beautiful Devon sunshine. It was perfect! The decorations and special touches were really nice, fun and unique. The speeches went down really well with lots of laughter and embarrassment shared out.
As the afternoon moved on the wedding party chilled out with drinks, enjoyed ice cream and the beach. It was soon time for the dancing and once the first dance was completed the guests joined the couple on the dance floor and the partying began. What a great day. I don’t think Alice stopped smiling, it was great.
Enjoy the pictures.
I look forward to returning to Blackpool Sands again soon so if you are looking for a Devon wedding photographer please pop over to my contacts page or follow the link below and send me a message. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
