Woolacombe Wedding – Elise & Joe
AirBnB North Devon Wedding
It was fantastic to be wedding photographer for Elise & Joe’s wedding in Woolacombe, North Devon.
North Devon and especially Woolacombe has some wonderful beaches, a great vibe and good surf. I have had an exceptionally busy summer and have been unable to visit the north coast as much as I would like. I was delighted when I made contact with Elise and found out where the wedding would be taking place.
Elise & Joe’s celebrations began at the Lily Pad Yurt. A new venue with Elise & Joe’s to be the first wedding to take place there. There is a middle earth theme running through the venue, see if you can spot the references. Sorry no hairy toes! Set up at the end of the garden and near the pond is an impressive yurt where the couple would be getting ready. The couple had also hired in a large tepee for the meal later on. When I arrived it was all rather energetic as the finishing touches were put into place.
North Devon Coastal Wedding
The weather was absolutely glorious with blue skies and wall to wall sunshine. Great Devon weather! The guests started to arrive and get ready for the ceremony which was to take place on the jetty in the pond. When the couple were ready they were rowed across to the platform and the ceremony was conducted by a close family friend. It was lovely!
I have recently written a blog on hiring a Celebrant for your wedding. To read please follow: Hiring a Wedding Humanist Celebrant in Devon
The wedding party enjoyed the sunshine and chilled out with drinks in the grounds while the children enjoyed the open space. A friend played guitar and sang to the guests and a little later the couple danced under the sun while their guest cheered them on.
The wedding party made their way to the giant tepee toward the top of the grounds for the meal and toasts. Elise’s family had traveled from Australia to be with her on the special day and her parents both raised a toast to the couple. There was also plenty of laughter and a few tears. All in all quite emotional.
As the sun started to go down and the cheese was cut it was time for me to go. I couldn’t go without first visiting the beach and having a little look round. Thank you for making me feel welcome and for the lovely food, it was really nice to meet you all.
Cheers
Anthony
