The wedding of Abbie & Alex was held at St John The Baptist Church in the lovely village of Pawlett in Somerset. I met up with a rather chilled out Alex with his best-man and groomsmen outside the church for a few shots. Soon the guests started to arrive and the day began. It was also a pleasure to catch up with Cathy & James who’s wedding I captured in 2013. A little later Abbie arrived and walked down the aisle with a very proud looking Father. It was lovely to see both Abbie & Alex go through the ceremony and say their vows.
The next part of the day involved travelling down the M5 to the Mount Somerset Hotel, just outside Taunton in Somerset. The hotel is a rather grand regency country house and an absolutely perfect place for holding weddings. Before the wedding breakfast we did some couple shots out in the grounds of the hotel and finished with a full group-shot on the lawn.
The wedding breakfast came next with all the speeches going really well with lots of laughter and tears. A surprise for the couple was the after dinner entertainment of Ratpack singers. They got everyone involved joining in and waving napkins. It was a good laugh and finished with a dance around the dining & drawing room.
The guests relaxed in the drawing room after the meal and it was the location where Alex & Abbie cut the cake. Next came the first dance and it was soon time for me to go home. It was great day and a real pleasure to be the wedding photographer for the special day. It was lovely to meet your family and friends. Thank you for the food and making me feel so welcome. Talk to you soon.
