Had a great time as wedding photographer for Jono & Beths wedding in Somerset recently. We started off in Street and met up with Jono & his groomsmen for some getting ready shots. Jono sat out on his balcony running through his speech with his two best-men, Tom & Max. Beth was getting ready at her Mums, just round the corner from Beth & Jono’s home, with her bridesmaids. I could feel the nerves beginning to mount as we drew closer to the ceremony time. The ceremony was taking place in Wells at the Town Hall, very close to Wells Cathedral. At an earlier meeting we had arranged where it would be best to park, but when I arrived it was packed and I had to search out somewhere else to park. I managed to find a parking space about a mile out of town and soon I was running towards a building which I assumed to be the cathedral. Realising my mistake I had to ask for directions and soon I was back on track and arrived with minutes to spare. I did not need to panic as Ruth, who was assisting me on the day, had all in hand.
The ceremony was lovely! Beth arrived with a very proud looking father. The ceremony was held in front of family and friends and contained laughter and tears throughout. During the ceremony the weather started to drizzle and continued as the party arrived at the next venue, Kilver Court in Shepton Mallet. Kilver Court is a great venue with a viaduct as a backdrop in the lovely gardens. The guests were treated to a fine selection of real ales and craft beers while they snacked on canapés. The rain eased and we were able to get outside for some couple shots in the gardens. We went on to do the group-shots while the weather kept threatening to wreck proceedings.
Jono and Beth had spent a lot of time decorating the wedding breakfast room. It looked great! Once all the guests were seated and had eaten, the speeches started with the Father of the bride, Jono and the two best-men. The speeches went down really well with plenty of laughter and emotion. After the speeches the couple opted for a share a shot rather than cutting of the cake! It was a lot of fun. As the night drew to a close for us the party was in full swing as we left. It was great to see so many guests on the dance floor.
It was a real pleasure to be part of Beth & Jono’s day, they are a lovely couple with a great set of friends and a lovely family. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. I hope you had a great honeymoon.
Talk to you soon.
